Wirral Passport Scheme
What is The Wirral Passport Scheme?
The Wirral Passport Scheme entitles residents and non-residents to a range of discounts on Local Authority leisure and cultural facilities and some other Local Authority services.
Discounts range from upto 10% for residents and non-residents and upto 50% for eligible resident individuals for up to 12 months. For a full list of discounts available download a copy of our Discount Directory.  
Another category allows the cardholder to be accompanied by a carer. Only available to individuals with disabilities or special needs. If you require a carer allowance and do not wish to purchase a Wirral passport discount card or are under 18 years of age, you can register at any of our Leisure Centres free of charge with proof of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance or the person applying has a carer who is in receipt of or has underlying entitlement to Invalid Care Allowance (ICA).
How much does it cost?
Category A:  £3.00 upto 50% discounts for eligible individuals.
Category B:  £5.00 upto 10% discounts for residents.
Category C:  £7.00 upto 10% discounts for non-residents.
How do I apply?
Just pick up an application form from any Library or Leisure Centre or download a PDF Application Form.
Take the completed form along with:

• The required proof of eligibility.
• Proof of residency.
• Two passport photos.
• The fee.

to any Leisure Centre or Library.
Your passport will then be sent to you.  
N.B. From the 1st April 2008 we will no longer be including private sector companies on the Wirral Passport Scheme. This is due to our commitment to the Wirral Approved Trader Scheme. Please refer to our Discount Directory for Discounts available.

Brief description of service:

• We are an open access playscheme, operating all year round. Staff are WBC employees.
• We run an all year round “open access” playscheme for 5-14 year old children. This is an inclusive playscheme, with many children with various problems. We provide a full range of activities which includes: art and craft; sports outdoor and indoor; computers; day trips; environmental work and much more. Most playscheme activities are free.

PlayPoint is the new Play Practitioners Project operated by Wirral Play Council and funded for three years by the Big Lottery Fund.Our aim is to provide varied and challenging play opportunities for children aged 5 - 13 years and to encourage them to become involved in the planning and design of the project and also engage parents/carers to get involved, through volunteering and planning play activities.
We have identified five key areas on the Wirral that will benefit from our Open Access play opportunities.  These venues were chosen after consultation with local community members, voluntary groups, parents and children.
PlayPoint operating times are; 3.30pm - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (see TIMETABLE page on our website www.playcouncil.org.uk for more information).
All our sessions are FREE of charge and Open Access - children can come and go as they please.
All children are welcome - under fives MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Registration details must be given prior to child's first session.
All our staff are fully trained and C.R.B. cleared.

Reminiscence Group at Woodchurch Community Centre

The Reminiscence Group started in April 08 and proved to be really popular as you can see from the photo. There have been various outings since the group began and everyone has a good time. To find out what else is planned give Dave a ring.
