Woodchurch has been chosen as an area to benefit from Neighbourhood Management. The programme has been running from April 2006 and has had an extension until March 2010, with the aims to improve the quality of life of local residents through the improvement of local services. These improvements have happened through building effective partnerships between residents and agencies working in the local area, and maximising the engagement of the community in local decision-making and the evaluation of services. The programme is managed through an Interim Board, chaired by Cllr John George, the membership includes Councillors for Upton and Greasby, Frankby, Irby, local community representatives and service providers. The Interim Board is linked to the Area Forum for Greasby, Frankby, Irby, Upton and Woodchurch. There are five themes as the focus for service improvement. These are liveability (environmental improvements), children and young people's health, educational attainment, alcohol misuse and domestic violence. Anti social behaviour is also identified as a cross cutting theme. Theme groups, involving a range of agencies and local residents, have been established to identify detailed actions to take forward.

Taskgroups
Liveability
This task group has a wide range of actions that have been carried out to address the concerns of resident within Wirral’s priority neighbourhoods. Chaired by Steve Eaves from Wirral Partnership Homes and invited guests.
Wirral LSP (Local Strategic Partnerships) recognises the importance of progressing the liveability agenda in order to effectively tackle the issues around crime, antisocial behaviour, housing and the physical environment at a local level. This is therefore seen as a cross cutting theme which needs to be addressed by all the LSP’s Thematic (relating to, or being a theme) Partnerships as set out in Wirral’s Community Strategy.
In addition to the Liveability agenda being addressed by each Thematic Partnership the LSP’s Business Plan identifies that further work will be taken forward to progress effective cross theme working by the Partnerships. This is reflected within the Improvement Plan for Partnership working and will ensure greater joining up of actions across the LSP and this will directly address issues relating to the Liveability agenda.
