DATE 2008 - present time

From the associations initial gathering as a group of concerned residents (some of whom were still members of a stagnant residents association) to the development into it's present day form the "Woodchurch T.R.U.S.T".

The main priority has been the residents’ concerns or questions regardless of any of our committee’s personal views. This has proved to be difficult for some of our members as different groups/ agencies have taken presenting questions or concerns on behalf of our members as a personal opinion from members of our committee.
As always if there has been a conflict of interest or any personal issues that would interfere with representing our members the person involved has withdrawn from direct involvement on that particular issue. For the most part our committee have been happy to present difficult issues or ask questions regardless, because they are the opinions and concerns of the members we represent.

Our committee attend many other meetings each month to represent our members and also bring information back for distribution. We liaise with some agencies and providers wherever possible to promote the development of Woodchurch services and facilities.
We take training opportunities that enhance the Associations ability to extend our services to the residents.

We also promote the Woodchurch Partnership as being the umbrella organization for all groups and agencies to work through whilst keeping their individual identities for the benefit of the Woodchurch estate.

General Information about us

Our first Newletter came out in Oct 2008 and we are striving to produce one every 2 - 3 months. Our website has been up and running since November 08 and is updated as information arrives, our online magazine called " Woody-on-line" is designed and been developed by Kath our Treasurer who has just added an on line survey form for residents to add their comments and thoughts about what happens on our estate.

Members have been actively involved in influencing how money is spent on this estate, and campaign tirelessly to ensure that issues are heard. There is a new car park scheduled for New Hey Road as a direct result of actions taken by our members.

We regularly attend Resident and Area Forums to "put forward issues of our members" and also attend meetings organised by Neighbourhood Management dealing with matters concerning their thematic groups ie. " Youth Steering group, Health & Worklessness, Liveability and Family Support.

Members are accepting any opportunity for training offered, and hope to organise more training for residents from various organisations to help promote community cohesion.

The T.R.U.S.T has a membership of just under 400 as of last month and is growing. Many of our members do not wish to attend the regular meetings due to commitments and the time but are happy for us to speak on their behalf and keep them informed.

The T.R.U.S.T meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Pemberton Methodist Centre from 6.30pm. If you want to get further involved, please feel free to join us there we would be pleased to meet you.
